Business Process Management

Business processes section provides description of the functions that allow working with business processes: starting a process, executing process tasks, controlling and monitoring processes and more. Besides, this section describes how to use portlets and filters.

All system functions are divided into four groups according to the stages of the Plan-Do-Check-Act Cycle (Deming Cycle) (Fig. 1):

Plan - designing (modeling) a process.
Do - executing a process.
Check - process control and monitoring. Allows evaluating process effectiveness .
Act - improving business processes.

You can edit the process, check, and publish it. After implementing the process, you need to analyse the effectiveness of this process. This cycle is continually repeated until the process becomes sufficiently effective.

Thus, when working with business processes, you can use the following options that will help you maximize effectiveness of the processes:

Execute a process: starting a business process, completing process tasks;
Control and monitor the execution of a business process instance;
Improve processes;
Create business process documentation;
Configure portlets.
