Organizational Structure is a system of hierarchically ordered organizational units (positions, departments, company units). Simply put, the organizational structure is a graphic scheme of the company’s management structure.
When implementing ELMA, the analysis of an existing organizational structure or creation of a new one is utterly important. The organizational structure model shows how employees interact within a workflow, so it has a great impact on the efficiency of the created business processes. Only after completing specific analysis should you start building the organizational structure model in ELMA Designer.
There are three modes in the organizational structure section of ELMA Designer:
Organizational Structure is the default mode. Here you can create or edit the organizational structure model, using the elements located in the top and left panels of the page (Fig. 1).

In the Organizational Structure Version History mode you can manage different versions of the organizational structure.
ELMA uses the published version of the organizational structure. You can modify the published organizational structure in ELMA. In this case, a separate version will be created, known as a Draft. The changes that you introduce will become available only after you publish the draft. All the versions prior to the published one are considered Outdated and are stored in the system. You can always go back to an outdated version: open it as a draft.
