Public Channels

Public channels are used for communication of groups of employees. Each channel is dedicated to a certain subject.
Public channels are created by the system administrator, who also assigns access permissions to this channel. These permissions are assigned in Administration – Basic Applications – Public Channels .
There are three groups of public channels:
  • common – are intended for communication of employees on any subject;
  • projects – are intended for communication of employees on a particular project. Such channels are available only to those users, who has access to the Projects+ application. When you create a project, a public channel with the project team members can be automatically created;
  • archive – stores archived public channels.
All the public channels are displayed in the left menu of the Messages section (fig. 1).
To open the page of a public channel group click on the group's name; to open the page of a public channel click on the channel's name.
