Process indicators show the status of a process. This status depends on Process KPIs.
The indicator is displayed in Web Application next to the instance name. It is a green, yellow or red circle symbol. The indicator is displayed in the My Processes andProcess Monitor portlets, and in the My Processes and Process Monitor sections. You can quickly take suitable corrective or preventive actions to improve the process performance if you see that the indicator is not green.
Indicator's calculation rule
ELMA calculates the aggregated instance KPI based on all related process instance KPIs and shows the indicator of the worst of them.
Process indicators in ELMA can be of different colors:
Green (Good) – KPI values meet plan values
Yellow (Allowable) - KPI values are in the acceptable range
Red (Critical) - KPI values are in the unacceptable range
The indicator color changes according to the KPI statuses and the calculation rule mentioned above:
The indicator is green if all the related KPIs meet plan values. If at least one related KPI is not specified, the indicator is not displayed;
The indicator is yellow if at least one related KPI is in the acceptable range and there is no KPI in the unacceptable range;
The indicator is red if at least one related KPI is in the unacceptable range regardless of the rest of instance KPIs.
If one of the indicators is deactivated in indicator settings, yet all the KPIs are within its range, Web Application will display this process instance without an indicator.
Creating an indicator
To create an indicator, click the Process Indicator button in the toolbar of the process page (Fig. 1).

The indicator is configured in the Configure Process Indicator window that appears after you click the Process Indicator button (Fig. 2):
In the Process Indicator section, enable or disable indication of the process instances in Web Application.
In the Indicator Display section, select the indicators which you want to display in Web Application. Select Yes or No. If one of the colors is deactivated, yet all the KPIs are within its range, Web Application will display this process instance without an indicator.
The KPIs that affect the process indicator - this section shows only process instance KPIs. Tick the KPIs, which must be used to calculate the process indicator. In ELMA Web Application, the indicator of the process instance will show the status of the worst of the selected KPIs.
