In ELMA Web Application you can start a process in three ways:
Click Start Process in the main page toolbar (Fig. 1). In the pop-up window (Fig. 2), select the process you want to start. To find the required process, you can enter the name of the process or a part of the name (not case sensitive) in the search string above the process list. The results will be shown below the search string.

Using any of the methods described above will open the same process list. All the processes in this list can be started by the current user. This user will be defined as the initiator. Permissions to start a process can be configured in the Designer, when modeling a process. You can define executors in the swimlane settings and specify the start event.
If you find it difficult to select the processes by name, you can look at the process map. To do this click, on the Map link next to the process name. The process map will open in a new browser tab.
After selecting the required process, the process start window appears in one of these modes:
the standard form for entering the process instance name (Fig. 5);

the standard form, that contains: description of the process, a few context variables and the field for entering the process instance name. (Fig. 6) (to learn how to configure this type, see Start Event Settings);

an arbitrary form, that was designed in the form builder and that contains a field for entering the process instance name (Fig. 7) (to learn how to configure this type, see Start Event Settings);
When starting a process from the Start Process portlet, the start window opens. The selection window will not appear (Fig. 4), since the portlet shows all the processes available to you.
Enter the name of the process instance and either click Start or press Enter. After that, the system will create a new process instance. Thereafter, the process is considered to be started and the executor will receive the first task.
