For process modeling, ELMA BPM uses a set of specialized graphical elements (Business Process Model and Notation). BPMN is a method of illustrating business processes in the form of a diagram similar to a flowchart; it allows users to quickly understand the logic of the process.
There are four main categories of the BPMN elements:
These four categories of elements allow users to create simple business process diagrams. Also users can create new types of flow objects and artifacts to improve the model readability.
This section describes the BPMN 2.0 elements. In ELMA Designer these elements are grouped on the side panel in the BPMN Elements block (fig. 1).

Each element has a unique identifier (UID). To find the UID number open the element settings window and on the Common tab, mouse over the Name field; you will see the element UID (fig. 2). To copy the UID number to the clipboard, left-click on the Name field.

Along with the BPMN 2.0 elements, ELMA BPM operates its own activities provided with the platform and system applications. Moreover, the ELMA BPM platform offers tools for creating custom activities.
