When you create an event, you can select the Confirm participation box (fig. 1). This setting will make users confirm or refuse their participation in the event.

Notify Me – this setting is only displayed, when the Confirm participation checkbox is selected. The author of the event will receive notifications from the other participants when they confirm or refuse their participation.
Once the event is created, it will be shown in the calendars of all the participants. In addition, these users will receive notifications on the upcoming event with the warning that the participation must be confirmed (fig. 2).

An event that requires confirmation will be highlighted orange in the participant's calendar. Once the participation is confirmed or declined, the event will be highlighted in pale pink.
To open the event page (fig. 3), click the message subject in the notification.

Confirm or reject participation, click Confirm or Refuse.
Confirm – confirm participation in the event. After you click this button, only the Refuse button remains, so that the user could refuse to participate in the event at any time.

After all the users have made their decisions, the participants panel (fig. 4) displays their statuses. If a user added a comment when confirming or rejecting participation, the icon will be displayed to the right of the user name. Mouse over the icon to view the comment.

In fig. 4 you can see, that Paul Flores refused to participate in the event and added a comment.
