The Messages section displays all the messages, sent to the user (fig. 1). These include system notifications, messages from other users and from public channels. System messages are automatically sent when creating or editing documents, tasks, events, relationships, projects and other system elements, where the current user is a participant, informed or responsible user.
To open the Messages section, click Messages in the left menu on the main page.
The Messages section is only available to users with the appropriate access permissions. The permissions are assigned by the system administrator in Administration - Users - Access settings - Global access settings - Messages - Access to the "Messages" module. For more information on assigning access permissions, see the respective Help section.
Fig. 1 shows an example of the Messages section page.
Unread messages are highlighted with a darker shade than read messages. When you click on an unread message it becomes read.
Messages are displayed with their comments. You can add a comment to a message right on the messages page (fig. 2). You can view all the comments of a message on its page.

The latest received messages are displayed at the top of the messages feed.
By default, the messages section displays the last ten messages and ten comments to them. To view more messages click , below the last message or simply keep scrolling. Note, that when you click on this button, all the unread messages are marked as read.
Click on a message subject to open the message page.
Favorite messages
Any message can be added to Favorites (for quick access), with the button in the top right corner of a message (fig. 1):
– add the message to Favorites. Changes to .
– remove the message from Favorites. Changes to .
To view Favorite messages (fig. 3):

on the Messages page click Favorites, under the search string;
-
on the Messages page click Favorites.

Favorite messages cannot be archived. If you add an archived message to Favorites, it will be restored from archive at the next server restart.

Configuring message display priority
To open the settings of the message display priority click on the Set Priority button in the toolbar. A window for configuring the priority will open (fig. 3).

To display messages with a certain priority level, drag to the required level and click Apply.
By default, all the system messages and public channel messages have regular priority. The system administrator configures this priority. Time report notifications are an exception and their priority level is high.
Users can set priority of a public channel by clicking Channel Priority in the top menu of the channel page.
The messages, sent directly to the current user have the highest priority. The messages section first displays the messages with the set priority and higher.
After reading the messages of the set priority, the messages with lower priority are displayed.
If you set the High priority, there may be two numbers near the New button (fig. 4):

the red number shows the number of unread messages with High priority;

the blue number shows the number of unread messages with lower than High priority.
Sent messages
The Sent section displays the list of messages the user sent.

Projects
The Projects section displays available project public channels and messages in them.
Archive
The Archive displays the list of public channels, which were sent to archive.
Message Search
You can search messages from users, the system and locked users in the section, which is currently opened.

To search messages by specified criteria enter the message subject or text to the search string or specify its parameters (e.g. message sender or receipt date) and click . The system will display all the messages that match the criteria.
