The Change Process Instance Status activity allows you to manage the current process instance status. With statuses, you can monitor the process progress. All the possible process statuses are specified and stored in a context variable of the drop-down listtype.
You can change the current process status:
manually in the process task in Web Application. In this case, the variable, which stores and specifies the process statuses must be added to the list of displayed variables in the task form settings. Make sure that it is not marked as "read only";
If you want to use the Change Process Instance Status Activity to change the process status, you need to place it in the graphic model where you want the process to change its status (Fig. 1). You can find this activity on the side panel of the graphic model, the "Plug-Ins" section.

To open the settings of the Change Process Instance Status activity, double-click on it in the graphic model or select Settings in the element's context menu.

Name — Activity name, displayed in the graphic model, process documentation, process policies and in the header of the settings window. This name is also given to the transition button leading to this activity in Web Application, if the connector that represents this transition in the graphic model does not have its own name.

On the Settings tab you will find a list of statuses. You have to select the status that will be assigned to the process instance once it reaches the current activity. The list of statuses is managed in the Process Instance Status settings.
