Modeling a Routing Process

You can create a routing process in ELMA Designer on the Processes tab. It is similar to creating a regular process.
Document routing process – is a process, which has the following features:
Since the routing process is created for a particular document type and can be started on the document page, you have to connect the process and the document type when modeling. To do so, create a variable in the process context, and select the document type as its data type:
  • open the Context tab of the process and create a variable with the document type as its data type. If you need to use the routing process for several document types, configure the object model to inherit document type, so that if the document type has child types, the routing process will be available to all of them.
  • make it an input variable, by checking the Input box on the Context tab (fig. 1);

  • add the routing process on the Business Processes tab of the document type page. To learn more, see the respective Help page.
To start using the created routing process, publish it.
After that, the document page will display the Start Process button (fig. 2). When you click on this button, the document routing process will start. This feature is available to the users, who have access to the Processes section and this routing process.
