New Approval Stage

This activity allows sending a document for approval to several users or groups of users, that are independent for each other. the route may have unlimited number of new stages.

For example, document approval includes three formal independent stages:

at the first stage, a particular user revises the contents of the document;
at the second stage - lawyers examine whether the document is composed correctly and complies with the law;
at the third stage - other users check the document's compliance with standards (for example, ISO).

In the process graphic model, the New Approval Stage activity must be bound with the Send for Approval Activity (which must be placed before the business role swimlane); or with the New Approval Sheet activity (which is normally used before the static or dynamic swimlanes). To bind these activities, use labels. Thus the New Approval Stage activity must be located between the operations Send for approval and Approval or between New Approval Sheet and Approval (depending on the swim lane type).

An example of the correct use of this operation is shown in Fig. 1:

New Approval Stage Settings

To configure the activity, double-click on its shape on the graphic model. The settings window will open which has the Common tab (fig. 2):

This tab is similar to the Common tab of the Approval Activity.
