Actions with Goals

Creating a goal

You can create goals in Web Application or in ELMA Designer. This defines where you can edit your goal map (in the web application or in ELMA Designer).

There are several ways to add a goal to a map in Web Application:

right click on the work panel to open the context menu and select Create Goal (fig. 1). In this case, the goal will not have connectors on the map.

right click on one of the units (goal or a goal group) on the map and select Create Goal (fig. 2). In this case, the goal will be connected to the chosen unit (fig. 4).

A dialog box will open (fig. 3), where you need to fill in the Name field, specify the due date of the goal and select a responsible.

To complete creating the goal, click Save. The created goal will be shown on the goal map (fig. 4).

Creating a goal group

You can create goal groups in Web Application or in ELMA Designer. This defines where you can edit your goal map (in the web application or in ELMA Designer).

There are several ways to add a goal group in Web Application:

right click on the work panel and select Create Goal Group in the context menu (fig. 5).

right click on one of the units (goal or a goal group) on the map and select Create Goal Group (fig. 6). In this case, the goal will be connected to the chosen unit (fig. 8).

When you create a goal group, a dialog box opens where you need to enter the group name (fig. 7).

To complete creating the goal, click Save. The created goal will be shown on the goal map (fig. 8).

Editing a goal

To edit a goal, open its page in Web Application and click Edit in the top menu. A page for editing a goal (fig. 9) will open whose fields are the same as the fields on a goal page.

After making changes, click Save in the top menu.

Deleting a goal/goal group

To delete a goal or a goal group in Web Application, open the goal map. Right click on the required goal or goal group and select Delete in the context menu (fig. 10).

In the dialog box that opens (fig. 11) click Yes to delete the goal.

The goal group will be deleted from the goal map. Goals included in the group will not be deleted from the goal map.

The goal will be deleted from the goal map and the goal tree. It will also be removed from the pages of all the goals that depended on it.

All the SMART tasks and Activities, related to this goal, will remain in the system.
