ELMA KPI Activities

When modeling processes, you can use special activities of the ELMA KPI application. You can find these activities on the Graphic model tab, in the KPI Management unit on the left panel (fig. 1).

Activities in this unit are divided into two groups:
1. Performance Matrices – this unit contains the activities that can be used in a performance matrix approval/control process:
2. Collect Data – this unit displays the activities that can be used for Data Collection

Approval

This activity creates a performance matrix approval task in Web Application. It is recommended that you use this operation when you need a performance matrix to be approved by several users.
You can find this operation in the KPI Management unit, Performance Matrices group (fig. 2). You can use this activity only in a dynamic or static swimlane.

Approval activity settings
To configure this activity, double click on it on the process graphic model, or open its context menu and select Settings. The settings dialog box is shown in fig. 3.

Name* - activity name, displayed on the process graphic model, in the process documentation and in the process policies.
Description - you can enter a description of the activity in this field.
The context variable with a reference to a performance matrix – in this field you need to specify a context variable of the Performance Matrix type, which stores the required performance matrix. To create a new variable, click Add Variable next to the field.
Configuring outgoing connectors for this activity is similar to configuring outgoing connectors of the Approval activity.
 

Change Status

Change Status activity is used for changing the status of a performance matrix. This activity is not displayed in Web Application. Once the activity has been executed, the matrix status changes according to the activity's settings.
You can find this activity in the KPI Management unit, in the Performance Matrices group (fig. 4).

Settings of this activity are similar to the Approval settings, however, it has an additional field - Performance Matrix Status (fig. 5).

Performance Matrix Status – this parameter defines the status that will be set to the performance matrix as the result of the activity execution. To change the status, click Change Value; in the opened window (fig. 6) select the required status and click OK.

Data Input

This activity creates a task to enter values of specific KPIs in Web Application.
You can find this activity in the KPI Management unit in the Collect Data group (fig. 7). You can use this activity only in a dynamic or static swimlane.

Data Input activity settings
To configure this activity, double click on its name or open its context menu and select Settings. The settings window (fig. 8) consists of the following tabs:

Common tab
An example of this tab is shown in fig. 8.
Name * — name of the activity, displayed in the user's task list, on the task form in Web Application, on the graphic model, in the process documentation and process policies.
Description — activity description, displayed on the task form in Web Application, in the process documentation and process policies.
KPI tab
On this tab (fig. 9), you can select and configure KPIs, whose values need to be entered.

This tab is similar to the KPI tab of the data collection tasks.

Data Control

The Data Control activity creates a task to control data logged in Web Application.
You can find this activity in the KPI Management unit in the Collect Data group (fig. 10). You can use this activity only in a dynamic and a static swimlanes.

The settings of the Data Control activity are similar to the settings of the Data Input activity.
