Object Properties

Object properties are a set of fields of different types, which contain information on the object.
The object page displays the object properties on the Properties tab (fig. 1).

These are the object property types in ELMA:
System properties are designed and configured by ELMA developers. For example, object UIDs. These properties can be automatically added, if you check the Hierarchical and Import-Export Support boxes on the Advanced tab of the object page. You cannot edit or delete these properties. In the list, the system properties have a green font.
User properties are designed and configured in ELMA Designer according to the company's requirements. You can create user properties by default with preset parameters (only for user objects). You can edit or delete these properties. In the list, the user properties have a black font.
Properties, inherited from the base class are inherited from the parent (base) object. The parent object can be a system object or a user object. You cannot edit or delete these properties in the current object, but you can do it in the parent parent (base) object (if it is not a system property). In the list, these properties have a blue font.
If properties are inherited from other inherited properties (blue), then the properties inherited on the second level and higher will be displayed grey in the list.

Creating an object property

To learn more about creating an object property, see the respective Help section.

Editing an object property

You can edit only user object properties.
You can edit an object property on the Properties tab of an object page. There are several ways to do it:
The opened dialog box (fig. 2) is the object property page; it is similar to the dialog box for creating an object property.

Additionally, you can open the page (in the read-only mode) of a system property (fig. 3) or a property, inherited from a base type. You will not be able to edit a system property. The only exception are certain properties, for which a value calculation script was added on the Advanced tab (e.g. the Full Name property of the Contact system object).
