When a user is added to a group, they automatically receive access permissions to system objects; these permissions are specific for the group. This means that the administrator does not have to configure access permissions for each user individually.
There are two ways to create a user group:
In ELMA Designer: Organizational Structure tab - Groups section (Fig. 2).
In Web Application: Administration - Users - Groups.
When a user group is added or deleted in ELMA Designer, it is also added to or deleted from the list of groups in Web Application and vice versa.
There are two types of User Groups:
System groups are the ones that exist in the system by default. You cannot delete them. They already have a set of access permissions for different system modules.
User groups are the ones added by ELMA users, for example, by the system administrator. Such groups can be deleted.
Users are added to groups in Administration - Users - Groups.
In ELMA Designer (Organizational Structure tab, User Groups section) you can manage the user groups:
Create user groups;
Edit names and descriptions of user groups;
Delete user groups.
To open the User Groups section in ELMA Designer, go the Organizational Structure, click the Organizational Structure button and select User Groups (Fig. 1,2).

Click the Add button to create a new user group. When you click on it, a dialogue box opens, where you enter a name and a description of the new group (Fig. 3).

In the Group Name, enter the name of the user group.
In the Description field, you can add a short description of the group or a comment.
Click Edit to edit the name or the description of a user group.
Click Delete to delete a user group.
System groups cannot be edited or changed.
To go back to the modeling sheet, click Groups - Organizational Structure (Fig. 4).

A user group can be specified as the executor of a dynamic swimlane in a business process in ELMA Designer.
