Publishing Objects

In ELMA, you publish objects in order to save and apply the changes you made in ELMA Designer and make them available in Web Application. Sometimes you also have to restart the server to apply changes.
There are two ways to publish objects:

Publishing tab. Objects portlet

The Objects portlet on the Publishing tab (fig. 2) displays the number of object drafts, published objects, objects, requiring publishing and deleted objects.

Drafts – number of changed and saved but not published objects. You can view the changes only in ELMA Designer. To apply them you have to publish the objects and restart the server.
Published – number of published objects.
Server restart is required – number of published objects, which require server restart to apply changes.
Deleted – number of deleted objects.
When you click a number of objects, the Objects section of the Publishing tab opens.

Publishing tab. Objects section

There are several ways to open this section:
The Objects section includes the following tabs: Drafts, Published, Restart is required. The active tab is dark-yellow.
"Drafts" tab – list of changed and saved but not published objects (fig. 3). This tab allows publishing objects in groups.

"Published" tab – list of all the published objects (fig. 4). If the object is changed and published at least ones, it will be displayed on this tab.

To return to the Publishing tab (fig. 2) click Objects – General Information (fig. 6) in the toolbar.

Publishing objects in groups

To publish several objects at the same time, go to the Publishing tab, Objects section select the required object (by holding Ctrl) and click Publish (fig. 7) in the toolbar or in the context menu on the Drafts tab (fig. 3).

Usually, group object publishing is used for objects with "Object" or "Enumeration" properties. You have to publish all the objects at the same time, since they refer to each other.

Server Restart

You can restart the server on the Publishing tab, Common section. Click Restart Server and confirm restarting in the opened dialog box.
If there are changes in the system, which require server restart the Publishing tab will display a notification about it (fig. 8).

After you have restarted the server, the Publishing tab will display the notification about the server restart results (fig. 9).
