Each project in ELMA has statuses and stages. Project stages do not depend on its statuses.
Project statuses a states of the project (draft, active, completed), defined by an enumeration. They cannot be changed.
Project stages – are stages of the project life cycle, which the project passes consequently during its progress.
Project Statuses
There are three project statuses in the system:
Draft – a new project, not yet displayed on the start page. You can create a project plan for such projects, but the tasks will not be visible to the executers, until the project becomes Active;
Active – published project, whose tasks are assigned to the executors;
Completed – completed project, with all its tasks closed. A completed project is moved to archive.
Project statuses are defined by an enumeration and cannot be changed.

Project stages
In ELMA, when you create a project type, three stages (draft, active, completed) are created automatically. Project stages do not depend on its statuses. You can create any number of stages for each project type in ELMA Designer. You also have to create transitions between the stages.
Users, with the required access permissions can change stages of the project. To change the project stage, open its page and click Change Stage in the top menu (fig. 3).
