Import Users from LDAP

If ELMA server is configured to work with LDAP, you can import users to ELMA. To learn how to configure LDAP connection, see Integration with LDAP.
To import users from LDAP, click Import – Users from LDAP on the Administration – Users page (fig. 1).

Each unlocked imported user will be added to the "All Users" group in ELMA.
You can add other groups, to which the imported users are automatically added, on the opened page with the Add Groups button (fig. 2).

Click Search (fig. 2) to see the list of users, available for the import (fig. 3). Check the required users in the list and click Import. The selected users will be imported from LDAP to ELMA.

You will see a notification (fig.4) when the import procedure starts. The import will be performed in the background so you can continue working on the page without waiting for the import to complete.

Data of the user accounts, imported from LDAP, are not stored in ELMA. When such users are being authenticated in the system, the information is compared to the data, stored in LDAP.
You can type a part of the user login in the search string and click Search. The system will show the list of users, whose logins include the entered combination of characters.
If you import for the second, third and so on time, users in the list have different background color (fig. 5):

Attention!
Authentication of users, synchronized with LDAP, is performed via LDAP, that is why not even the administrator can change passwords for these users.
You cannot import users, if there are no free licenses in the system.
