Project Budget Approval

Project budget approval feature allows the superiors to check and approve the project budget, which can be published after that.
This feature is available if you configure the respective settings in the required project type. To find the settings, go to Administration – Projects+ – Project Types , select the required project type and open the General Settings tab, Approve Project Budget unit. To learn more about these settings, see the respective Help section.

Sending a budget for approval

There are two ways to send a project budget for approval:

Fill in the required fields in the opened dialog box for creating an approval task (fig. 3) and click Send. This dialog box is similar to the dialog box for sending a project plan for approval. To learn more, see the respective Help section.

After you have sent the current project budget version for approval, the project budget page will automatically open (fig. 4). This page will display a notification saying that this project budget is pending approval and that an approval task has been created.

If you did not check the Publish after approval box when sending the project budget for approval (fig. 3), after the budget is approved, its page will display a corresponding notification (fig. 5), and the Publish button will become available.

If the Publish after approval box has been checked when sending the budget for approval (fig. 3), a dialogue box will open (fig. 6) about completing the project budget approval task with the Approved status. In this dialogue box, you can check the Publish project budget box.

Project budget approval task

The user, to whom the project budget version is sent for approval, receives an approval task with the project budget version attached. The page of this task looks like this (fig. 5):

This page includes the About Task tab, which displays the task end date, project, project budget and its version number. When you click the project name or the project budget name, their pages open. The icon is displayed to the right of the project budget name. Click on it, to open the editing page of this version.
Top menu buttons of this page, are similar to the ones of the project plan approval task page. To learn more, see the respective Help section.
