"Messages" Portlet

By default, this portlet displays all the messages of the user (fig. 1).

To learn more about working with messages, see the Messages Help section. The Messages section displays all the incoming and outgoing messages and available public channels. This portlet allows quickly reading and sending messages.

To open a message page, click the message name.

The portlet (fig. 1) allows adding a comment or asking a question. You cannot ask a question about a message between users.

Portlet management buttons:

– portlet is expanded. Click this button to collapse it.

- portlet is collapsed. Click this button to expand it.

- open the custom portlet settings.

Custom Portlet Settings

Each portlet has general settings, configured by the system administrator. When customizing the main page, users can change the custom portlet settings.

Show only from the channel – select the available public channel. Only messages from this channel will be displayed in the portlet. If you select All Messages – the portlet will display all the messages, the user receives (from public channels, other users and so on). Also additional parameters will be available: Show only unread messages, Number of displayed messages* and Number of displayed comments*.

Show only unread messages:

	Yes - the portlet will display only unread messages.
	No - the portlet will display all the messages.

Number of displayed messages* – maximum number of messages displayed in the portlet.

Number of displayed comments* – maximum number of displayed comments to a message. This parameter is also available when you select the public channel in the Show only from the channel field.

Note, that these settings affect only the Messages portlet, not the Messages section in general.

If you need to configure additional settings, click Advanced and fill in the required fields. To learn more, see Portlet settings.

After you have configured the portlet, click:

Save – settings will be saved, the window will close.

Save and continue – settings will be saved, but the window will not close and you will be able to continue configuring.
