Editing Variables

In ELMA, there are several ways to edit a variable:
When you edit a variable on the Form (context) tab of the Task activity settings, the settings window opens. When you edit a variable on the Context tab of the process page, the page of the context variable opens.
Go to the Context tab of the process page and open the context variable page. There are three ways to do it (Fig. 1):
Fig. 1. Editing a context variable with a toolbar control button and from the context menu.
When editing, you cannot change the type of the context variable if the process version containing this variable has already been published.
To change the variable type, you have to delete the variable and create a new one of the required type. If the process version that uses this variable is published, ELMA does not delete the variable from the database for the purpose of system integrity. It is simply hidden from the list of context variables. When you create a variable with the same name, ELMA will offer you to restore the deleted one. If you want to create a new variable instead of restoring the deleted one, you will have to use a different name for it.
