Process Instance Statuses


Process Instance Statuses allow you to track the progress of a process instance. All the possible statuses are defined and stored in a context variable of the "Drop-Down List" type.
Process statuses can be changed:

Creating Process Instance Statuses

To configure process instance statuses, click Settings - Instance Statuses in the toolbar of the process page in ELMA Designer (Fig. 1).

In the provided window, select a variable of the Drop-Down list type. If this variable belongs to the process context variables, make sure that in its settings the "Participates in Search(Filter)" option is enabled. You can also create a new variable, that will be used to specify and store the process instance statuses. For this, use the Add Variable button (Fig. 2).

If you click Add Variable, the variable page opens. It features "Process Instance Status" as Displayed Name, and it is of the "Drop-Down List" type. The "Participates in Search (Filter)" option is enabled (Fig. 3, 4). You can rename the variable if necessary. The created variable will appear in the list of variables on the Context tab of the process page.

Once you have selected the variable, add all the possible statuses of the modeled process to the provided list of instance statuses (Fig. 4).

Click the button to add a new instance status.
With the buttons you can move the statuses in the list to put them in a certain order. This will be their order in the drop-down list on task forms and in filters.
You can delete a status by clicking .
In the Actions when Interrupting Process Instance section specify how statuses are changed when a process instance is interrupted in Web Application (Fig. 6).
