Creating a Project Task

The dialog box for creating a project task looks like this (fig. 1):

Subject * – subject of the created task, displayed in the Tasks section and the Tasks portlet. This field is required.
Executor * – select the task executor. To add an executor, click Select. If you select one of the user roles, with more than one user, then a form for selecting the task executor will be displayed when publishing the project plan. If you select a task co-executor as the executor, this user will be automatically removed from the Co-executors field. You can also add a human resource to the task to select the Executor. When you click Manager, the project manager is selected as the executor. When you click Assign to Me, the current user is selected as the executor.
Note, that you can select the project manager and other objects to assign an executor, only if the Take human resources into account option is set to Not used in Administration – Projects+ – Project Types.
If you have not selected the task executor, the project manager will receive a notification (fig. 5), that the task executor must be selected, one day before the task start date.

Start Date – task start date. You can create a task without the start date. When you delete the date, the Specify Duration and Duration * fields are removed.
Specify Duration – specify the task duration:
Completion Rate – specify the initial completion rating of the task.
Priority – indicates the task priority. This field is required.
Category – task category from the Task Category object. It is used for sorting tasks.
Description – created task description.
Project Phase – this field is available only if you create a task on the top level of the project plan (for grouping sub-tasks). When you select Yes a project phase is created, which can be deleted by selecting No. The created project phase will be displayed in the project budget. No is selected by default. Please note that this field is not displayed when creating and editing a task in the sub-project plan.
Add Document when Completing Task * :
 
Yes – when completing this task, the executor has to attach a document (Load Files field is required).
 
No – task can be completed without attaching files.
This field is required.
Toolbar buttons
Assign task control. When you click this button, the form displays the Completion Check field.
This button is dark-yellow, when active.
Select the task co-executors. When you click this button, the form displays the Co-executors field.
You can select the project manager and other objects to assign an executor, only if the Take human resources into account option is set to Not used in Administration – Projects+ – Project Types.
You cannot select the task Executor as a co-executor. If you attempt to do so, the user will be removed from the Executors field.
 
This button is dark-yellow, when active.
Set time report limit on the task. When you click this button, the form displays the Time Report Limit field.
This button is dark-yellow, when active.
Add an attachment to the task. When you click this button, the form displays the Attached Files and Attached Documents fields, which allow uploading files from the local PC and attaching ELMA documents.
This button is dark-yellow, when active.
Specify expected task due dates and the estimated time report. Click this button to add the Start date (expected)Due date (expected), Expected time report fields to the form. When selected, the button is yellow.
Add human, technical and material resources to the task.
When you click this button, the Resources window opens. The executors and co-executors you specified for the task will be automatically added to the Human Resources tab of this window.
