The visual editor has several advantages. First, it provides access to portlet settings as well as the standard interface settings. Second, it allows you to see the result of your settings as the end user will see it.
To enable the visual interface editor, click Enable in Administration - Portal Settings(fig. 1).
The mode for configuring the interface of the current user will be enabled. To change the user, click Change User. You can select an interface to configure from the drop down menu in the top left corner (fig. 2).

There are two ways to disable the visual interface editor:
click in the top right corner of the editor.
click Disable in Administration - Portal Settings.
