Grades

Sometimes KPIs and SMART tasks are not enough to measure employee performance, and you might need employee evaluation given by superiors. Such evaluation (in Grades)  is done once a month and has a direct impact on an employee's performance.
There are several ways to open the Grades section:
This subsection (fig. 1) is available to all the users of ELMA KPI.
A page with added grades looks as follows (fig. 1):
Fig. 1. Grades page
This page shows a list of grades the the current user has to enter on the first day of each month .
The grades given to a user will be displayed in the respective performance matrix (fig. 2).

By default, the Grades page is empty. The grades are created in the Grades section, in performance matrix templates. You can read more about creating grades in the corresponding Help section.
The grades are given by a responsible user, usually a head of department, specified in the performance matrix during its configuration.

Task to grade an employee

On the first business day of each month, the users responsible for grading, receive a task to evaluate other employees over the past period (fig. 3).
Fig. 3. Grading task page
One employee can be graded by several persons.
This page features the About Task tab that shows the task due dates and a table with grades. The table contains a list of grades that the current user is responsible for.
The table can feature both fact and plan values. Only fact values are editable, they are highlighted in black, whereas plan value cannot be edited, they are grey.
Double click on a cell to enter a value.
If the value can only be selected from a list specified in value settings, then you can open this list by double-clicking on the corresponding cell. In this case the abbreviated name of the measurement unit will not be displayed in the table.
If you want to open a form for entering a value, (fig.4), click on the icon in to the top right corner of the cell. On this form, you can change the graded period, enter a fact grade, add a comment and attach a file.
Please note that if you enter a grade lower than the maximum, the Comment field will become required (fig. 4)

When you add a comment, it will be displayed in several places: grading task page, grade page and performance matrix (fig. 5). To display the comment, mouse over the Fact value.

The top menu buttons are similar to those of a regular task.
After the task is complete, the performance matrices of the employees are considered filled in.

Please note that in case of a substitution this task will be assigned to the substitute user. In this case, the substitute user needs to have access permissions to the KPI module. If not, access to grades will be denied.
